When choosing the site for an apiary, you need to consider many things.

One of them is the local conditions during winter. Maybe a site works well for the bees during the productive season but is not fitting for the overwintering period. During winter you need to find a new suitable place for the purpose of good winter conditions for the bees. After the honey season, you move the bee colonies to a new well-fitted winter apiary. In some places, this could be inside a storage room.
