Use of wax foundations

To produce straight, uniform wax combs, attach a thin wax sheet, called a foundation, to the frame. Melt it onto stainless steel wires using electricity, such as from a battery charger. Wire spacing must prevent comb breakage during extraction. Replace 10 old brood-frame foundations each year with 10 new ones to maintain proper wax rotation.
